Wednesday Poetry: Daydreaming is…

Today I played around with Burroughs’ favorite experimental technique, cut up poetry. Creating work from printed material does reduce poetry to a jigsaw puzzle, but isn’t that really what poetry is: a jigsaw puzzle of thoughts and words? The act of gluing together words in different fonts and colors is like deconstructing the world and offering it new structure in poetic disorder.

I might have to take this up regularly.

Until next time…

Like my blog? Why not try my novel? Big city actor falls for small-town historian, reigniting a moonshining feud. Things are about to get real messy, but can their love survive?

The Mess We’re In is available at Amazon, Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble, and Books-a-Million.
